Illustration Friday - theme word - polar

Here's my Illustration Friday piece for the topic of 'Polar'. I know, I know, everyone will be doing a polar bear, but I love polar bears! I couldn't help myself! This was a hybrid...some drawing, a painted background and all put together in Photoshop. I was really happy with the way this turned out. I'd love some feedback from all you creative people out there who see this. Let me know what YOU think!

Love this - the polar bear's scarf is really cool. I also like the background... reminds me of the Northern Lights! Great job!

It's wonderful, Nina. I like the minimalist approach and the icey background. And no need to make excuses for drawing a polar bear! Especially one with such a pretty scarf. :)

Wow, this is excellent! Something about the way you put it together, with the seperate but related images floating on the gray ground, makes me think of textile design or giftwrap. Now if you could just figure out how to do the repeat....!

This is terrific! I love the design quality about this. The unusual sense of space is very fascinating and really works. I like the arch in the in the bear, then I saw the arch in the the igloo. What if you repeated the arch in the eskimo? Like with his or her legs? That might be cool. Overall, this rocks.

I love this, and I agree with Nancy Bea...wonderful gift wrap or any surface design. It has such a soothing feeling, with that icy blue background -and I love the scarf and the red mittens and the little snowflakes.
