IF - muddy

For Illustration Friday this week - Pigs are way cuter in illustrations then they are in real life, don't ya think? This one's a character from the book I've been working on. I don't want to show too much of what I've been doing, since I hope to find a publisher for it, but I think revealing just one character will be OK. I sure hope so. It's not a spread from the book, just the pig and the barn.

In today's world of blogging and portfolio websites, it's hard to know what's off limits. I've seen a few blogs where an illustrator shows the whole process of a book they are working on, from start to finish, so it must be OK with the publisher, or they wouldn't be doing it. I guess it just depends on the publisher. You know, the one I don't have yet.

What a cute little piggy! I likey very much. The color palette is wonderful. Did you ever hear from Lori's office. Please let me know. I didn't hear any more from you. I told her that you were sending in stuff to her. She has been so busy. Let me know.

Yeah, I usually have to ask permission from a publisher before I post anything from the books I work on. Usually, once all the work is turned in and the book is only a little ways away from debuting, I can show more of the process. It helps generate buzz!

Love your color palette and character design, as usual!

I always wonder exactly what the rules are for artists sharing their work in progress.

This is so cute! He should head on over to La Pew Piglette for some company *wink* :)

Adorable pig! I agree with you, illustrated piggies are much cuter than real ones. :)

I love little piggies! This one has such an adorable little smile on her. I'm sure I'll soon be able to catch her and her barnyard friends in a bookstore near me. :)
