IF - garden

I had a lot of fun doing this week's Illustration Friday theme of "garden". First of all, what could be cuter than kids in fruit and vegetable costumes, not much! Second of all, I love Japanese illustration, when they draw little faces on inanimate objects like food. It justs cracks me up! That's where I got my inspiration for this piece. And, of course, I had to think about what these kids would be doing up on stage. I didn't think they would just be standing there looking cute, that's not what kids do. They act up, or act funny, or pout or laugh. My personal favorite is the apple. She's like "Hey, don't push me!"

Very funny. Yeah, they do slap faces on just about everything over here. Sometimes it can be a little weird, when there's a cute face on something that isn't at all cute. I like the pear for some reason. And thanks for your comment!

Cute! My favorite is the pea. I like the peas on her front.

Nina, you've done it again! This IF rocks! I can't pick a favorite... my oldest daughter would be the celery or the pea (well behaved or shy) and my second daughter is definitely the grape or broccoli ("get outta my way" or a little bully). Gave me a chuckle because it's all too close to my heart. You are on your way!

My favorite would have to be the giggling pea pod! This is such an orignal idea, I love it!

Oh man, the giant "O" mouth on the apple just made me laugh outloud. Apple is so shocked that Broccoli could be so mean... hahaha... great, great job. I love this piece.
